DISGUSTING, HORRIBLE, SCAMMERS, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. This review is a long time coming and is going to be lengthy but please read as I want everyone to be aware of just how awful this company is. Jade Ata is the most vile person I have ever had the displeasure of corresponding with. Worst place I’ve ever lived in (and I’ve moved around a lot). PLEASE PEOPLE, BELIEVE THE REVIEWS, NEARLY ALL OF THEM ARE SHOCKINGLY BAD FOR A REASON.
Firstly, even though the rooms look nice, here’s a few things I hated about the property itself:
- Washing machines are disgusting and don’t wash your clothes properly
- Dryers were also terrible and my clothes were never dry
- Gym is very small, half the equipment is broken and the air con doesn’t work (absolute hell in summer)
- Prepare to be ignored when things need repairing (mood lights didn’t work properly, also a leak in my ceiling through the spotlight in the bathroom)
- Wi-fi is awful, very slow and kept dropping, not password protected either and no Ethernet port in your room which meant I couldn’t work from home when the pandemic hit
- Far too many times where there was no hot water
- Heating is all controlled by them, a nightmare in winter!
- The lift is ALWAYS broken and takes ages to get fixed
- Rooms are overpriced. They are also falsely advertised and pictured as 1 or 2 bedroom apartments, they are NOT, they are all small studios (I was confused when I was told this at the viewing but decided to brush it off – first red flag).
Now, I will explain the many unpleasant experiences I had throughout my stay. Once you hand over your deposit/advanced rent they do not care about you. Jade hadn’t sent me my paperwork and my moving in day was approaching, it was very hard to get in contact with her but when I finally did she blamed ME for the delay and told me I would have to wait until a weekday to get the paperwork sorted. Monday came and guess what? Still no paperwork! Unbelievably unorganised and if I didn’t keep pushing to have the papers signed I wouldn’t have been able to move in when I needed to. Jade acted like it was all an inconvenience to her that all the paperwork had to be sorted out at last minute, but that was her fault. The lack of accountability is astonishing. She was very rude on my moving in day and made me wait an hour and a half outside to have the keys (she was also ignoring my calls!) But no apology was ever issued for anything she did.
When I moved in I realised that there was no TV or microwave. I messaged Jade about this and she completely ignored my message (surprise!) This was then sorted by a lovely man a couple of days later when I took the initiative to go down to the office myself. He also told me where everything was in the building as I was never shown anything before. A couple of weeks later and I’m sitting in my apartment minding my business when a woman unlocks my door with a set of keys and enters my room. How the hell was this allowed to happen? Why does some random woman have keys to my apartment? I reported this to Noble and was told that this will be sorted and obviously it never was.
During my tenancy one of the trays on the door in my fridge came off due to general wear and tear and when someone came to fix it they superglued it back on because they told me if they didn’t and Jade found out she would charge me for a whole new fridge. Actually laughable. At this point I am extremely regretting my choice of apartment.
Now this review will move on to Noble’s response to Coronavirus. I believe how companies have treated people throughout the pandemic has been a true testament to whether they actually care about you or not. Jade Ata does not care. Not even a little bit. I couldn’t work from home (due to poor wi-fi and no ethernet port) and therefore I lost my job and couldn’t afford to pay the rent in full on time. I tried to contact Jade time and time again to explain my situation and to come to an agreement but she blatantly ignored me. I know other people that had an agreement with her about rent due to Coronavirus, but she basically refused to do this for me. Not only this, but she threatened to take me to court if I don’t pay rent on time regardless of my situation.
I decided that due to my financial difficulties it would be best to ask if my contract could be terminated early so I could go and move back home. Guess what? She ignored all my emails. Finally she responded “leave your keys in the black box”. I was obviously overjoyed as I didn’t expect her to agree to this (knowing what she’s like). Little did I know, after further questioning she meant I can move out, but I will still be liable for all of the rent. I wholeheartedly believe she responded in a very misleading way initially so I would move out, be hit with a bill, whilst also having another tenant move in straight away (which is unlawful btw). She tried to trick me on purpose. Very sly.
I ended up staying the full tenancy and unfortunately I needed to stay an extra 2 days due to there being a gap between my end of tenancy and the move in date for my new accommodation (I obviously offered to pay extra for the extra days stay). I emailed Jade, I texted her, I rang the office multiple times, I was blanked for several days. I finally got through to Jade on the weekend and she told me I need to wait until Monday!? Monday was the day I was supposed to move out, she basically said ‘tough’! Monday morning, I was ringing Jade’s mobile and the office’s for 2 hours straight and nobody picked up. I even went down to the office and no one was there. Eventually I got through to the office after 5 hours (no one was aware I had even asked requested this) only to be told it’s not possible for me to stay and I need to be out in the next 2 hours (lol). This was a very distressing day for me as I had no idea where I was going to go! She even had the cheek to threaten to charge me for moving out a little later than I should have.
When I moved out, I was so happy to be rid of that place. Little did I know this would not be the end of it and they would cause me more stress and complications. I couldn’t keep up with the rent during my stay and when I left I was sent a bill (understandable), they were going to keep my deposit and were charging me extra to make up for the rent owed, however, I was charged £200 more than I should have been and every time I asked Jade for an explanation she either ignored me or said it was ‘due to interest’, which it was obviously not! Quite clearly a mistake was made (on purpose or on accident? who knows at this point). Luckily I persisted and eventually it was corrected, no apology for the distress she caused me though!
She was also invoicing me £75 FOR CLEANING FEES. My flat was left spotless, I spent hours cleaning it and I even have video proof that is was completely clean when I moved out. Jade is a compulsive liar and said it took 2 hours for the cleaner to clean my room! When I asked to see a bill from the cleaner she said she doesn’t have one. I found a job advertisement for a cleaner at Noble and they literally pay them £8/hr! And they want to charge you £75 for a non-existent clean when you move out?! Not only is it extremely unlawful (citizens advise told me landlords can no longer charge tenants for cleaning fees) but it is also outright ridiculous (citizens advise also told me that when landlords could charge cleaning fees in the past, £75 is very excessive). I had many emails back and forth with Jade arguing about this, she threatened to take me to court if I didn’t pay it, even after I told her she isn’t allowed to do this. I then told her if she continues to harass me about it will be ME taking her to court, she then tried to play the victim and said I was being argumentative and threatening? THE HYPOCRISY, her favourite thing to do is threaten to take you to court over the smallest things. After she realised she wouldn't win this battle she then randomly threatened to charge me for a burn in my carpet that was already there when I moved in. I got trading standards involved and haven't heard from her since.
To conclude, Jade Ata has no customer service skills, is extremely rude, unorganised and unprofessional. She is a compulsive liar and extremely childish. Noble does not care about their tenants, only the money you are giving them. The lack of compassion they have for their tenants is despicable. I never received an apology for any of their mistakes or the stress they caused me. Yes, it is hard to believe that something can be so bad but it genuinely really is. I know I’m one out of hundreds of people who feel the same way so be wise and do not make the mistake that we did by choosing them.
Finally, I just want to make everyone aware that Noble continuously delete their bad reviews from their google page, I’ve seen them disappear with my own eyes. I will be reposting mine every time I see it’s been deleted. Thanks for reading.
