I rented with Homelets during my second year of uni and it was absolute hell. Within the first 24 hours of moving in, the house had to be fumigated because of a flea infestation which Patrick (manager) refused to believe until I came to him with photographic evidence of my bites. The entire team were completely incompetent, rude and lacked not only empathy but all morals entirely. Every day was a battle with trying to get basic necessities fixed such as our boiler which wasn’t working for over 3 weeks during January. We had no heating or hot water and we all had to sleep in coats etc. After asking daily for someone to come and repair, the staff at Homelets asked us to watch a YouTube video and fix it ourselves!!! The boiler was practically ancient and was a hazard in itself. The entire thing was a nightmare and I beg any student considering a property with Homelets to reconsider!!!!

my son signed a joint tenancy with several liability so when another tenant did not pay his rent that amount was deducted form my sons deposit, that tenants guarantor was not charged. these tenancies are very unfair and stuents should be very wary of signing them. ...

We are having an awful experience with Homelets. We have compelling evidence that they will do anything to keep our deposit. I too am going to take the Watchdog and Rouge Trader route. It's been back and forth, a MyDeposit dispute and as much warning to all students out there. The property was mouldy, the boiler leaking and the list goes on. They are so irresponsible that they're risking lives. I want to warn every current tenant. They should not be allowed to trade. ...

This is obviously a review written by somebody that works for homelets, homelets are AWFUL. I've never met a single person with a good experience, I personally know people who have had ceilings fall through, toilets that have never been fixed, frequent viewings with no prior consent...I've even met somebody who went on holiday to return to a house with no roof, they started repairing the roof without informing the tenant and then the building stopped before the roof was complete.
