We had a property which was did not conform to the normal 3 bedroom house that people would rush to purchase. Edmunds found a purchaser and we accepted an offer £15,000 less than the asking price. We were six weeks behind our purchaser finding our purchase.. Despite letting Edmunds know that they were relentless our property was sold on the basis of "no chain". (There would have been no chain as we were purchasing an empty property.) Nevertheless things turned particularly nasty and we were informed our buyer would be homeless as he had not renewed his lease and therefore we had to move out or risk buyer pulling out and house prices were dropping rapidly so we could expect to loose £25,000 or more. We ended up with our furniture in storage and a holiday let. One week after moving out we discovered the "homeless purchaser" had builders in and the property resembled a building site. No kitchen and all flooring back to screed. We left stripped bamboo flooring, tiled kitchen - blinds and curtains as well as being neutrally decorated. The kitchen had relatively new appliances with fridge and dishwasher left. We left a perfectly presentable property that was more than suitable for moving into. We are the homeless ones in a pandemic with health issues and in our 70s. Once purchaser found the estate agent works for the purchaser and we pay their bill. So be aware Edmunds expect you to complete in 28 days and if not the bullying starts. Also charged £100 by Solicitors for rushed completion to add insult to injury.
