I viewed a house with Horts after which I spoke with Sarah and expressed that I would like to put in an application. She sent me the application form and told me to complete it and send it back (due to covid, no face to face contact). I had a lengthy conversation with Sarah about the face that my current tenancy required 2 months' notice so I asked if rhe start date could be moved back however made it clear if not we could start it straight away. I then rang back later that day and spoke to Susan to ask something about the form and was told 'we don't do that anymore, just send an email with your employment details.'I sent the email copying in both Susan and Sarah and referenced the original conversation, asking "could the start date be moved back, following the conversation with sarah". I didn't get any reply. I rang the next morning to follow up and was told the landlord had selected someone else because we couldn't move in straight away. I clearly stated that I had spoken at length with Sarah about this making it clear I was only asking if the start date could be moved but if not it wasn't a deal breaker. I also referenced the fact that she was going to ask the landlord and get back to me which she never did. So all in all we have missed out on this letting due to a lack of communication between Horts staff and none of this was communicated to me until I rang them up. Lack of communication within the office, poor communication and apparent lack of interest (Susan told me my email was to blame and did not seem bothered at all that it was her and Sarah who had caused this and let us down).
