Short summary of their service: inaccurate, slow to respond (if you get any at all), and unprofessional. Virtually non-existent.
When renting the flat, the communication wasn't too bad. This, unfortunately, was the only time efficient communications were made. Moving into the flat was a disaster, as Jay left for vacation without passing along any relevant information to his colleagues. I had several boxes that needed to be delivered a day prior to my check-in (the date the boxes were delivered was still after our tenancy had began). I requested that the boxes to be received by the concierge so that I could come the next day and pick them up. Jay forgot to read my e-mail (and I'm quoting him here), and the concierge, having no idea what the boxes were, sent the delivery back. I ended up paying for two delivery charges and a week without clothes, since every essential daily items were in the box. When I complained and asked for a justifiable compensation, he shrugged and said "too bad, but nothing I can do". Aside from this particular incident, replies were often delayed and decoherent with my requests. Even when issues required urgent attention, he was not very present.
After moving in, Chase Evans sent me a welcome letter with a list of utility providers for electricity, gas, water and so on. Turns out, the letter was not so welcoming after all since they listed the wrong suppliers for electricity and hot water. Considering that the property didn't rely on gas for anything, the only supplier they got right was water. After wasting hours on the phone with the wrong utility providers, I asked my neighbours and the building manager and finally got access to the correct providers. I asked them if the providers ever changed- the answer was no.
The issues continue- the biggest issue, should you decide to rent a property from Chase Evans, will be faced at checkout. Upon checkout, I went over the tenant's agreement and cooperated with everything listed on the checkout section. I even asked Chase Evans if they had any particular professional cleaning service they recommend, just so I could avoid delays. They recommended a firm called Hyway Cleaning, which was significantly more expensive than other local cleaning firms. I still went with them, as per the estate agent's suggestion, because he/she mentioned that Hyway Cleaning was the only firm they could give access to in the event of unsatisfactory cleaning. The cleaning, in my opinion, was quite good- the cleaners knew what belonged to the flat and what didn't, and knew how and where to clean. The problem is, the deposit still hasn't been returned. I haven't even seen the bill stating the deductions, and it's been 7 weeks since our tenancy expired. 7 WEEKS. If you ask any other people who have rented properties from any other estate agency, they will say that 7 weeks is ample time for the inspection, negotiation and returns. And yet, when requested, agents at Chase Evans would just say "the negotiation procedure takes 4-8 weeks depending on the condition you left the flat". Do you see the irony? I used the cleaners they recommended, paid extra money to avoid latencies, and yet they still found a reason to delay the procedure. And need I mention, 8 weeks is the average time taken to reach an AGREEMENT, not the time taken for the first offer to even be made.
All things considered, avoid Chase Evans at all costs. I have spoken to several agents at the firm, and no one deviated from the low-standard service Chase Evans provided. All the 1-star ratings you may find in the reviews and their comments are accurate to the letter. Every one of the negative comments COMBINED will be the nightmares that you will face should you go with this agency. Sure, they've got some attractive properties, but so do other firms. I can guarantee that you will spend the duration of your tenancy+however long it takes for the deposit return surrounded in agony and desperately waiting for a reply.
