So many issues with the property that were reported several times and consistently ignored. Belvoir Stirling do not respond to emails, hardly ever answer their phone and never seem to be in the office.
We reported mould forming on the bathroom ceiling due to the window not opening and the extractor fan not working properly, this was never fixed, proving that Belvoir are happy to let students live with potential health hazards as long as they are paid.
When we first viewed the property, the hall was uncarpeted with just bare floorboards, with sharp splinters in some areas. We were promised this would be carpeted before we moved in. 2 years later we moved out, the hall had still not been carpeted.
We emailed Belvoir at the peak of the COVID pandemic asking for a short payment holiday, due to 2 of the tenants losing their jobs amid lockdown. We did not get a response, and did not pay rent for the following 3 months, following guidance from the Scottish Government. After this period, we emailed again asking how they would prefer we repaid them. They responded threatening legal action if we did not pay the arrears immediately.
After we left the property, Belvoir were given 45 days to approve or reject our deposit application. They chose to ignore it, leaving us waiting for the maximum time (almost 2 months) without our deposit.
Completely irresponsible and uncaring agents, we ruled out several new rentals on the basis that they were let out by Belvoir.
