Despite family members who had had a terrible time with Pearsons (due to false information intentionally given in the chain) I decided to go with them. I have regretted the decision ever since.

In the glossy information given at the time of signing contracts, it speaks about using their 'knowledge, experience and skill to guide you through the process and do everything we can to bring your sale to a satisfactory and speedy conclusion. We will be proactive, talking to everyone involved in the process from solicitors to other agents'.

I have not witnessed any of the above proactivity and have constantly had to chase in an attempt to get information. It has been very painful.

Despite knowing timeframes I had for an operation and the financial implication of moving this, they did not manage the chain to ensure this was met. This left me out of pocket.

There is also a severe lack of communication amongst the team. Cliff phoned to suggest a completion date and then the next week Graham phoned to suggest a completion date which was the same as the one given the week before! The completion date suggested by both was missed.

All of their actions were fully endorsed by their Managing Director, Mark Gilbert.

Despite these being the only agents with a physical presence in Denmead, I would encourage anyone reading this review to go with anyone else as you will have to do all of the running yourselves.

For the record, our buyers were not in a position to move in the timescale needed and clearly explained. They were ready to move 4 days after which meant I was out of pocket. Please ensure any information you quote is accurate.

I would like to once again draw your attention to your glossy brochure which states ‘we will be proactive, talking to everyone involved in the process from solicitors to other agents'.

If the above had happened we would not be in the situation where you are having to come online to justify your teams actions and refer to control and influence.

We are naturally disappointed to receive such a review, we have however explained that as facilitators we are not in a position to set or dictate timescales, particularly when there are multiple links in a chain, and the delays that have happened in this instance were due to the conveyancing process for which we have no control over.

For the record our links in the chain are ready to proceed, it is the remaining link, via another Estate Agent that is not ready. We strongly refute accusations of a lack of communication.

We have expressed our understanding for the frustration that this has caused, and have clearly explained that what has occurred is beyond our control and influence.
