Having signed up with Yopa to sell my property, they listed the house and started arranging viewings. All good so far. They eventually found a buyer for the property who made me an offer that I accepted and then pulled out 1 week later due to not being able to get teh mortgage. I appreciate that this is outside of Yopa's control but I would expect that they should at least check to ensure the prospective buyer has a decision in principle. Throughout the proces, they are now on to the third selling agent for my area as the previous 2 left Yopa during the sales process so there has been no continuity.
Eventually, I found a buyer for the property myself and instructed them to go through Yopa, expecting that Yopa would take care of everything from there on; unfortunately I was very mistaken. I have had little to no after sales support, trying to get hold of someone to chase the the sale is a nightmare (for myself and my solicitors), I have been having to do all the chasing directly with the buyer myself and this has all resulted in the sale taking over 6 months and ultimately resulting in me loosing out on the property that I was trying to purchase.
I expect that if I were to complete the sale of my property with the buyer that I found, Yopa would still expect their fee but as far as I'm concerned Yopa will not be getting a penny out of me, regardless of if I sell to this buyer or not as they have done absolutely nothing to deserve it.
My advice: If you are serious about selling your property in a timely manner then use a more reputable Estate Agent.
