I really have mixed feelings about Doorsteps. In one sense, I really like it, especially the price, but in another sense, it is so rough around the edges, in so many areas. They really need to introduce a more premium package which gives a great price, but provides a better experience too.

It's pros, are price...
And the professional photography and floorplan was good (by Liza).
And the fact the property does go live on Rightmove and Zoopla.

But, there are many rough edges.

The biggest rough edge is the online system they use. I work in digital development, and see what they are trying to achieve, but it is way to under-developed. It only copes with basic scenarios, and as a property seller, I have no visibility what buyers are being sent or shown, and if I agreed anything with a viewer/buyer outside of the platform, it can be problematic getting that info on to the platform.

This isn't helped, as their call centre is incredibly hard to contact, and when you do speak to them, they have levels of agents, with different amounts of experience, this causes problems getting questions answered. Every single buyer has complained about how hard it has been to contact the estate agent, and that there is no named person who seems to know what is going on. This very quickly became my experience too.

I can't benchmark against other estate agents, but it quickly became apparent that Doorsteps had no incentive to get the best price for my property, they just wanted it to sell. They'd recommend I list it quite low, this caused a lot of interest, but also resulted in a bidding war between different buyers. This could be good, but Doorsteps were not on-top of the process, with me having to constantly chase them. This again isn't helped, as they don't provide sellers with much advice about what options and what to do.

So, Doorsteps has helped me sell my property, and as a service has great potential, but, it is really rough around the edges...

No fees information available
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
