Having let properties for many years I can claim that Andrews is the worst agent I have ever used. Their main concern was to let my property in the shortest time possible – the tenants moved in 1 day after Andrews received the final reference, and the substantial concerns of the referencing agency were ignored. The full deposit was not collected, and the references (all failures) were not checked or the contents disclosed to me (other than "everything on them was fine”). There were fundamental failures even to verify the tenant's addresses. Andrews did meet the cost of repossession but refused to reimburse lost rent, or take any action against the “guarantor” who Andrews guaranteed would result in “no loss to you”. Andrews offered £1200 in compensation. After a review by the Property Ombudsman, all my complaints were accepted and I was awarded £8200 to cover unpaid rent and damaged furniture. I will be pleased to supply a copy of the Ombudsman’s report to any interested landlord.

Tell me , do/did you get annual accounts with where your maintenance charge was spent?
We get a badly presented excel sheet that my six year old could do better.
There is nothing clear about anything on there.e.g.
Maintenance and repairs. - £2438.41
Maintenance fees - £1500.00

Surely there must be some mistake? Andrew Hunt claims that although he writes on websites he is a Letting Agent he has nothing to do with letting properties and that a company which operates out of his offices and staff who answer the phone or who are contactable by email at [email protected] do not really work for Andrew Hunt and work for a completely different company altogether set up three months ago - but this review is from May 2013 so it appears Mr Hunt is trying to mislead various agen ...
