Over the last 2 years, I have rented a student property in L3 with property link. I would NOT, ever recommend moving into a property with this management and landlord, and if I could rate them 0, I would. We have had countless problems with property link from the beginning of our contract until the end. When we first moved in (2018) we were told that the property had been professionally cleaned. Upon arrival, it was clear that this was not true. The flat was filthy, the fridge had not been cleaned, we found food dating back to 2015 in the cupboard, as well as finding a condom under one of the beds. We have had a mice infestation for the whole of our second year of the contract, to the point of finding mouse droppings in our beds and finding them dead under the fridges, we have had leaks in the corridor and bedrooms, causing the electrics to blow, and consequently being left without power for a week, sewage leaking into our ceiling from the flat above, damp and mould in the bedrooms and kitchen, flies all around the flat due to the mice dying in the walls, homeless living downstairs smoking in the flat and using drugs, no water, yellow water, fire alarms not fit for purpose and going off randomly at all hours forcing us to turn them off and leaving us unsafe, broken appliances weren’t replaced for weeks, people visiting the property without prior warning (which was continued throughout lockdown, even though the government guidelines stated they could not do this) and being overcharged for a tv licence, and when they were questioned we were told it was an “admin fee”. The communication between property link and us, has been ok. They do answer emails, and they do answer the phone, however they lie, make false promises, and just pass the phone around the office until you stop bothering them. If there is a problem with the flat, you can expect to be ringing and emailing them for a long time before the problem is resolved. The only good thing about this company is some of the contractors that they employ, Phil the electrician was very professional, friendly and went out of his way to sort things out for us which we really appreciated as it seemed we weren’t getting any help elsewhere, as well as the painters and maintenance man we had in. Overall, I think property link take advantage of student renters, as when reading other experiences, it seems there is a similar thread throughout the reviews. One of our biggest mistakes was to sign for a second year at the beginning of our first year tenancy, before we had chance to realise just how awful they were.
