Acts on its own interests. Data protection? Trust?
I did not wish to enter into management contract with Rodgers Estate agents. I gave them clear reasons why in an email 6month ago.
Six months later the agent sent out a rather blunt letter to our tenants
'I am writing to remind you that your tenancy at the above property is due to expire on 14 March 2020. Please contact our office as soon as possible to let us know if you wish to renew the lease.'
I made a complaint and asked to speak with the directors of the company. I pointed out that if I had received a loss as a result of their letter, I could sue them for Tort. (since we do not have a direct contract between us and they had acted in a way which could be detrimental to our business).
Rather than apologise and back down they contacted the other owners of the property and asked if it was ok if Rodgers Estate agents could sign / extend the tenancy on their behalf.
The terms of the tenancy are different to the ones that the tenants already have with us and I do not believe they have attempted to explain them or the pros and cons of entering into a new agreement. At this point, they have not told me how much they will charge for this paperwork exercise.
I would suggest you avoid them and look for an agent that focuses on making money by looking after ones property and ones tenants.
