We rented a house through Frank Innes in Heather in June 2018. Never did we know at the time, that we were entering into seven months of complete hell. This house almost sent us to the point of suicide, and put so much strain on our relationship, that we almost split up. I would personally rather have been banged up in Parkhurst for 6 months. You will understand that Frank Innes didn't manage this property. They simply were engaged by the landlady to find her a tenant. We later found out that they had found this woman eight tenants in ten years for the house. All had left following poor living conditions. Every neighbour in the short terrace where this building is situated has been aware of the disreputable nature of both the landlady and Frank Innes as a letting agent. Both are a laughing stock. Within ten days of moving in, we discovered that a leak in the bathroom plumbing was causing the kitchen, below, to flood. We had been on holiday for a week in Devon. Both the landlady and Frank Innes blamed the situation on the previous tenant. Absolute nonsense. We were expected to believe that she had kept a key to the property and had returned to it, in order to put a hole in piping. In fact the poor woman had almost had a breakdown and had reported the landlady, herself, to environmental health. The water ceased to flow. For eight days we were forced to flush toilets with a bucket from the one remaining tap working. The floorboards were collapsing in the downstairs loo. The electrical supply was faulty and only three in thirteen sockets in the kitchen gave a constant electrical supply. Twice our freezer defrosted costing us over £100 in lost food. Builders were sent in to attend to the kitchen which had been flooded. The walls were soaked and thus dehumidifiers were installed to dry them. This necessitated every piece of plaster and tiles removed from the walls. The dehumidifiers failed to work and thus for months they continued to run without any guarantee of recompense for the electricity used. In the end we insisted that we have free rent until the building was rendered habitable. This was agreed to. Frank Innes was supposed to have inspected this property prior to it being rented out. Undoubtedly they will offer it again for letting as soon as we move out next week. They are, in my opinion, totally disreputable. Their concern plainly is deriving profit and they frankly couldn't give a monkey's cus for who they screw over in the process. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
