WARNING; ‘’You can expect exceptional service, reliable communication, and trusted advice to help you find the perfect home.’’ is the statement used on Oyster Properties and I’m disappointed to say, that is far from the truth.
I had contacted the agency to make inquiries on the day details of a particular property had been posted and was given a date when I could view it. It took several reminders, until the confirmation of time and address was (one hour before viewing) finally sent to me.
I really liked the property when I viewed it so I made an offer to pay a holding deposit immediately and was instructed to call to do this. The lady(*) who showed us this property from there began avoiding me. When my mother contacted the agency, Irene, who I arranged the viewing with, attempted to deceive my mother, stating I did not show up on the day, unaware my mother was present when viewing the property. After further attempts during a period of three weeks to get through to the agency and them constantly claiming that ‘’* was not around’’ and ‘’she’ll get in touch’’, I found out online, that the let had been agreed, to somebody else.
One month prior to this review, we did contact the founder/director and manager who both conveniently ignored our complaint.
I am still extremely perplexed as to why they handled things in this manner rather than following their ethics of ‘exceptional service’ and ‘reliable communication’ however this experience and their professionalism, abysmal.

I had the exact same problem with oyster in Honeypot Lane, very poor service and unprofessional, they said they would get in touch after I viewed a property with them and they never did, from someone called (nick), waste of time, wouldn't recommend. Thank god I have now found a much better property with a much better agent. Jan 02, 2020

We have investigated your complaint. This property came on the market and we had a tremendous response with the first available appointments slots being booked out straight away. The next ones were available on Monday at which time you were booked for. As the property was currently occupied the existing tenant could not give an earlier time slot for the next appointment

Had a viewing in Watford on Friday, the agent greeted us then walked to one room. The moment we entered she said this is the master bedroom and left. She had her back turned to us for majority of the viewing. We left there feeling unwelcome. The stench of her indifference was appalling. It's just laughable. The maintanance side is just horrible. Avoid at all cost, they lie to you and keep postponding issues even when it comes to something serious as mould.

Their sales agents are good. Maintenance staffs and coordinator is very bad and terrible. They do unfair treatment with tenant. They ignore tenants if there is any maintenance issue reported. They did unfair deduction of my deposit and failed to prove their point.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
