We dealt with Sandersons after they absorbed iConn, in Canterbury. We were with them for a total of 3 years, at the end of the tenancy they performed a check-out report with an out-of-date inventory list. They claimed that we had left items in the house, of which were already present when we moved in, and charged us £120 from the deposit for disposal of said items. Even after proving that those items belonged there (by way of previous tenant statement and old viewing photos depicting those items) they still decided to go ahead and take the deduction.
They also decided to take away £240 from the tenancy deposit, even after the house had been cleaned top-to-bottom. Only taking photos of areas that had small amounts of dust on, to use as evidence for the whole house being left dirty. We considered trying to claim the money back through court however we couldn't take the pressure and stress that the landlord and Sandersons were putting us under.
On at least 3 occasions, our reports for required maintenance were ignored.
We will never be letting through Sandersons again and urge anyone else to proceed with extreme caution in the future.
