Saleboards were fantastic! Firstly, in brief, we chose them because there was no tie-in period, a much lower rate of commission than any other estate agent we'd used and they donated £100 pounds to a charity in Uganda from their own commission - a place where I'd worked perviously. The brochure was much more detailed, comprehensive and better presented than the one the previous agent had produced and the staff were always polite, professional, 'on our side' and not remotely aggressive.

In more detail: We went to them having had a sale fall through with another (rather aggressive yet widely used) Exeter agent and after our property had been on the market for a number of months with the previous agent having also had a sale fall through with the same previous agent. I phoned Jonathan for some advice following a recommendation from a couple of friends. He was immediately so honest, helpful and supportive that I decided to seek a valuation from Saleboards. Laura came round and her no-pressure up front approach made me feel totally at ease (our previous agent had been quite the opposite - creating an atmosphere of fear and panic to force through decisions - obviously seeking their own interests above ours). Laura had done her research and gave us a realistic idea of what to put our flat on the market for, and yet was open to our suggestions too. That, combined with the much better contract terms meant that we decided to use Saleboards and leave our previous agent. Our property was on the market for less than 2 weeks with Saleboards before we had a good offer. Jonathan did the negotiations on our behalf (at our request) and we were delighted with the outcome. I would say the biggest difference between Saleboards and the previous agent was that we were always kept informed and that we didn't have to 'fight' for things to happen, Saleboards were clearly on our side but also fair. They never raised expectations and never left us hanging. They seemed almost too good to be true but it is their policy to be fair and ethical and they really proved themselves in this.
