From day one, as soon as I paid the fee to secure the property, agents at Jeffrey Ross didn't seem interested in communicating with me or making the move in process easy.
We originally agreed that the property would be let furnished. However when I asked agents to relay requests to the landlord (replacing very mouldy blinds and a broken chest of drawers), this was met with reluctance (it was suggested that I could still use the other drawers although one of the top drawers was broken).
My emails and texts to Kayleigh, who first showed me the property, were never replied to. Calling the office, I was told Kayleigh was busy but wasn't given another contact. Having been burnt in the past with landlords not delivering what they promised, the lack of feedback with my requests made me very anxious and unsure if I should go ahead with the tenancy for a property I really liked.
On the day of move-in, I was given a set of keys for the flat by the Pontcanna office. Arriving at the property I realised I wasn't provided: information on how to get into the apartment building, how to get into the car park, and a key for my letter box. Thankfully, a passerby going into the building told me that I needed a code for the building and a fob for the carpark. I called the office and tried to explain this to Emma. She didn't know how I could get a fob and asked me to call the passerby who had given me his number. I expressed that I felt this was inappropriate. I was then met with aggression implying that I should be providing a solution.
It should be of no surprise that to get meter readings takes multiple emails over several months.
Lastly, at the end of my tenancy I asked four times to be given at least 24 hours notice prior to viewings. These were again ignored. On one occasion I emailed as well as called the office to advise that a particular viewing was not convenient, only to later on meet Kayleigh knocking on the door to do the viewing.
On a positive note I have given two stars as repairs needed in the flat were undertaken with surprising efficiency.
