A COMPLETE AND UTTER SHAMBLES - Ridgemoor were hopeless at returning calls or acting on any maintenance issues throughout 2018/19
More recently this company got into difficulty because they did not pay deposits back when they WERE DUE at the end of tenancy agreements. Secondly, they moved offices during this period, when they should have been returning deposits and at the beginning of a new academic year??
There were no new office address details registered on their contact details and one member of staff appeared to be working 'off a mobile.' All you got when calling this mobile – was leave a message to which there was never ever a response!
Ridgemoor blame internet issues, but in 2019 how difficult is in to log on in a café…anywhere in fact and keep your customers informed? How difficult is to visit a bank and make a bacs payment.
We obtained a mobile no for an Ali Khan who was totally harassed and clearly needed help to organise the enquiries and workload. There was no prioritising of calls. The company boss a Tony Isabor needs to take responsibility for the chaos of recent weeks. As 'Superior Landlord' – He could have left an automated message on the mobile, diverted calls to another number, sent out a generic email and structured some kind of plan - he should have helped Ali??!! Last Friday he dropped off a payment card handset and left Ali to it once again - Needless to say payments were not processed!
Students have been criticised for panicking, this is not fair and absurd. Our deposit of over £600 pp was now over 6 weeks late, more than 2 months after moving out and no-one ever called us back. Ali made false promises and numerous excuses but payments were never paid. On so many occasions we were given a date for payment but these deadlines were never met. No wonder students were rightly CONCERNED.
I am relieved to say that after literally hundreds and hundreds of calls over £3100 was returned but only at our persistence. So much time has been wasted when my daughter should have been focusing on her new job! Her flatmates eventually got their payments 3 days later after more calls.
If you are unfortunate enough to be signed under Ridgemoor, check with the DPS the exact terms of your deposit return now – our deposits were returned into Ridgemoor's bank not ours, keep records of everything and hopefully maintenance calls will be better served than my daughter and her house mates experienced. Hopeless… from day 1 and throughout.
Note – my daughter and flat mates were good tenants, no money was deducted as they left the house in the condition it was moved into, yet they were treated like this.
