Our experience with Regents Estates Grays wasn't good at all. We had problems with one of the toilets from the beginning of our tenancy, did not know about it when we moved in. But then it got worse when the other toilet was blocked for six days. We called the agency a few times, at first they said that maybe we had done something wrong to cause the blockage. We even tried to fix it, because we called them complaining about it many times and they did nothing. In the end we called Citizen Advice Bureau and Shelter UK to ask for their advice. After six days, being unable to use the toilets at all, they finally sent somenone to fix it. Imagine not being able to use the toilets at all for six days, especially with two children.
We made a few complaints regarding the property during our stay and we think this led to us being given a notice to leave the property. We weren't really happy about it, having two young children is difficult when you have to move house. The agency said that the landlord wanted to rip everything off, in order to fix the problems with the drainage and pipes. But we recently found out, that as soon as we left, another family moved straight in.
Sometimes it seemed that the agency was favouring the landlord. They lack in professionalism, we hope we won't have to deal with them again.

Sorry to hear of your experience, however between us all here at Regent Estates the events you have said have taken place we cannot recall for any of our properties. We would never leave a tenant without heating or lights for a week nor without an oven for a month. We certainly do not do "outside inspections" by looking in the window, our inspections are carried out INTERNALLY every 4-6 months with all tenants having 3 weeks notice in advance and a call on the day to confirm someone will ...

Thank you your review but I would like you to know that the owner did inform us that he would be dealing with the blockage issues and that was the reason he gave for taking the property back
We no longer have the property any more the owner took it back
We are sorry to read that he moved other people in as we are sure they will incur the same issues as you did
As a letting agent we are powerless to authorise works in a property without the owners permission but the did call out the profession ...

Tried to buy a property though these agents. The initial agent had terrible communication skills and personal skills. The manager was patronising. Overall the staff were unhelpful and uninterested. Sale fell though, just glad I don't have to deal with these clowns anymore...

Hello can you please elaborate on this? I am seriously thinking of joining this agency and I found Lauren to be very friendly indeed. I am sceptical as they are not part of the ARLA group. Also when you say overcharge in what way? ...

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
