Please please if you are a student in Cardiff do NOT let with Keylet. Our entire experience there has been a complete nightmare. In our second month at the property our kitchen wall was wet to the touch after it was left completely exposed and damaged by builders working next door. We reported it immediately only for nothing to be done. Understandably this then worsened and after months of badgering, and the wall caked in mould and the plaster cracking above the door they agreed to do a ‘quick fix’ (basically hanging a tarp over it) it was left like this for the rest of the year. When the time came to resign I said I wouldn’t entertain it until the repairs were carried out. They agreed and weeks later resumed badgering me to resign and told me there was no issue. By this point water was literally coming through the ceiling the entire corner was so badly damaged. The house was freezing we were constantly sick and full of flu and our bills were huge due to heating the damp. After walking in with videos and demanding something was done almost a year later everything was re insulated, the roof re-felted and left to dry out.
We were told to send in our bills at the end of the tenancy to get compensation for this time and now they are fighting me every step of the way. On top of this we also had to deal with contractors entering the property without notice, including an instance where one walked in on me naked. The landlady even arranged for one to enter our property while we were on holiday to use our electricity to power tools to rebuild a communal wall. We caught him the day we returned -something we also haven’t been compensated for. They’re evasive on the phone, will never call you back and are rude beyond belief. Please do not give them your money.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
