I selected A J Eyre and Sons from 5 estate agents considered.
They were willing to negotiate fees.
Their valuation was a little under median, and they were happy to market at our preferred price.
The house was under offer within 3 weeks and eventually sold for top of their valuation range so it seems to have been accurate.
We went from instruction to completion in 10 weeks, exceeding my expectations.
There was a small problem, in that after two weeks, I realised the promised complementary upgrade to a premium listing on Right Move had not happened. This was corrected as soon as I pointed it out.
The house was unoccupied and I was 100 miles away, visiting at weekends only to empty and clean. Eyres proved to be reliable at keeping an eye on the property (an insurance requirement was that the house should be inspected once a week, and they were happy to keep a log).
They provided sound advice throughout the process, and handled all communication with the buyers, including an unusual enquiry after completion. And on top of all that, everyone was very pleasant to interact with. All in all, an unanticipated positive experience!
