On Monday the 8/10/2012 I have seen a property on Zoopla, Contacted the agent Regal estate at Willesden green, trying to have some information and arrange a viewing,
The agent mentioned that it was a quick sale and there for, before any viewing they need to see an agreement in principal, in a way to be sure that we have a mortgage in place,
My reply to that is we haven't got such paper and at my knowledge if we do ask the bank for an agreement in principal we may be subject to a credit check, and this paper is valid only for few months, in other words I said to the agent if I get this paper, view the property that you are advertising and we don't like it, then if we don't find a property before the agreement in principal expires, we will have to apply for another one and that may affect our credit score.
Eventually my wife and I decided to go the estate agent in person and brought with us a Mortgage illustration that we did few weeks before in our bank to show that we are serious buyers.
So they were happy with that, they took our details and booked us for a viewing next day the 09/10/2012 at 14.30 right outside the property.
I must say the customer service was non-existent very cold manners, not a single smile, nothing to show that you are welcome in their premises.
The next day, we have received a call before mid-day cancelling the appointment, telling us that they are waiting for the vendor to hand over the keys to access to the property and they will get back to us in the same afternoon or tomorrow morning, I was a bit suspicious of that call, knowing that the Vendor is in a rush and want a quick sale.
We haven't heard from them in the afternoon, so I have called the next day, the agent on the phone was saying they are still waiting for the keys and he will get back to me as soon as possible to tell me about the viewing.
Finally NO answer again from them, I had to call them on the same day around 5pm and the agent told me that it was SOLD, that the other branch did the deal.
I said why you didn't call us to let us know, he said that the other branch did the viewing and they just sold it a moment ago, I THOUGHT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE KEYS TO VIEW THE PROPERTY.
They were not honest with us, very poor customer service, NO communication, wasted our time luckily we did not apply for the agreement in principal which cost money. and when I have complained and on the phone and mentioned that I was going to write a review and that I need the name of the person that I am speaking with, he said NO and added you will hear from my solicitor an hang up the phone on me.
