Estate agents have a bit of a reputation, don't they? And our dealings with certain over-aggressive Lincoln agents confirmed that for us. But I have to say that Starkey and Brown proved to be very much the exception, and were a pleasure to deal with right from day one to the final sale.
David Beagley did the initial visit, provided us with a valuation, and, after we'd agreed the fee, took the photographs. He was very easy to deal with, as were all the people we met, adopting a practical and sensible approach to the agreement of terms.
Debbie Negus kept in touch with us throughout the sale process, and at her suggestion came out to have a look at the property herself so that she would be able to talk knowledgeably about it to potential purchasers. It was a difficult market for sellers at the time, and this was a very sensible approach. David Beagley accompanied her, and the property was remarketed with some new photographs reflecting changes we had made to some of the rooms. This created more interest in the property, and led directly to a sale.
The sale negotiations were handled quickly, pleasantly and efficiently by Debbie, and solicitors were instructed. We particularly appreciated the role of Angie Powell, who became very much involved at that point and kept us absolutely up to date with progress, chasing solicitors and others as necessary. She was a very useful point of contact, aware of the situation in each of the various links in the chain.
Debbie, Angie and David all did their jobs expertly and efficiently â but were also very friendly and helpful to deal with. Selling a property is rarely going to be stress-free, but it's difficult to imagine how much more stressful and time-consuming the process would have been without the help of Starkey and Brown.
The fee was reasonable, and the service exceptional â that pretty much says it all. Except to say thanks to all at Starkey and Brown for the excellent service you provided us with.
