Buying and selling is stressful and full of high and low emotions (ours certainly was). This is why it is important to ensure that you use an estate agent that understands this and also has the ability to communicate affectively to help settle the nerves.
Our sale was originally on the market with YOPA (online estate agent), this started off well until we realised our local YOPA representative didn't know how to make or return a phone call. We had many viewings and had to nag and nag him for feedback. We eventually found a buyer and we found a house to purchase. We then lost our buyer, in turn losing our purchase.
We now knew Dan's professional, honest approach through our purchase that fell through, he offered to get some fresh photos taken and to see if he could find us a buyer. By now we were fed up with YOPA, so we said yes.
Christmas came and went, January hit with new viewings, one of which was our buyer. Dan gave us great feedback on the buyers current position and opinion on the property. They made an offer the next day, Dan set the sale price expectations with them at the viewing and stood by that throughout the negotiation.
Throughout the process and because of our previous experience we were nervous our new buyer would pull out. Dan was always in communication with all parties in the chain, keeping the sale and our new purchase (with different estate agent) going through as fast and smoothly as possible. But most importantly for us, he was keeping us up to date and our nerves in check.
