They ask you to put down a Holding Deposit, which clearly is only for holding the tenant, not the property, as the property is marketed by another agent at the same time.

Dear Cal, we had tried several times to find common ground between your requests and what the landlord could provide. As you are aware the property was advertised as part-furnished not unfurnished as you would have preferred. The landlord agreed to many of your requests, however couldn’t unfortunately agree to them all.
I feel we did go above and beyond what was asked of us, however putting down of a holding fee is a standard request within the industry and not something we as a company can alter. Keeping to our industry standards is not unprofessional or dishonest.
We sincerely hope that you have been successful in finding a property to suit your specific requirements.

Two things I complained, as in my original post:
1. Asking for a Holding Deposit when you clearly cannot hold the property (as another agent is advertising and handling the same property) is not honest.
2. When your staff tells a potential tenant that 'there is nothing in the contract for you to agree to' and hang up on the potential tenant on a call, it is unprofessional, dishonest and rude.
Lastly, I did not complain about the landlord not agreeing to any particular request of mine in my post. Trying to frame me in that way and possibly in an effort to suggest that I complained because I was not satisfied is another thing that shows your/your firm's dishonesty.
