HPMS are indeed money grabbers. They do not do anything to your property unless you pay over priced companies THEY use who do sub standard work / repairs etc. Tried to recommend local trusted traders, they refused many times. We terminated HPMS and they charged for a further 3 months of insurance / management fees after termination. They also did not refund deposits without a lengthy fight, They still owe residents money nearly a year after.

Our development recently sacked Hacking and Paterson, after 16 years of shockingly bad service. We totally lost trust in them. They were caught not being open, transparent and being deliberately obstructive. Sacking a factor is actually quite easy, having been told it was not. We sacked them with 6 months. Horrendous company. No proper invoicing, random bills with no details of work carried out, can't set up direct debit, don't respond to queries unless you pester them. This company are crooked in the extreme. We had to endure a leaking roof for two years as they would not do anything about it, with the excuse 'they didn't have enough people who wanted it'. Everyone loves a leaking roof, right? The lights were out for years until the desperate neighbours put in a temporary measure, and they allowed one family to take electrical risks ( the trailing cable is still along the floor, attached to an untethered wobbly lamp in a communal area.
