Having spent over 6 years working in an estate agent I feel massively qualified to leave this review.
In all my years of work, and selling and buying myself I have never come across such an unprofessional company. Gazumping is a thing of the past and in my years has been successfully avoided by professional estate agents, whilst legally they are obliged to pass on offers once offers have already been accepted it is their job and responsibility to show loyalty to the initial offer made.
It looks very much to me like some serious dishonesty has taken place. An offer was made and accepted on the property in olton road, Shirley. To make this offer the purchaser took a lower offer on her own property and ensured a mortgage offer was ready to go. She also accepted an offer from an investor meaning the chain ended at her property. Yet less than 24 hours later gazumped, even beating the higher offer the estate agent still didn't manage to keep the sale.
Morally I can not find the right words but I would not recommend this estate agency, it's important to trust your agency whether a seller or a buyer because if you are gazumped you stand to loose a lot of money!! the law needs to change in regards to gazumping and good agents know this and should be doing their best to stop it happening.

I can completely understand the frustration at being outbid on a property. Buying property is an extremely stressful and emotional process and to lose a property that you have your heart set on is not a nice thing to happen at all.
As an experienced Estate Agent you will be aware that legally we have to put all offers forward to a vendor, regardless of if a previous offer has been accepted or not. If this is not done we are breaking the law.
You will also be aware that it is not our decision who and why one offer would be accepted over another. Our job is to put all the facts forward and leave a vendor to make an informed choice. Of course we will guide a vendor on the matter but the final decision is not ours to make.
In this particular case I have explained at length personally to the buyer in question that we have strongly put forward their case to the vendor. We have been empathic throughout the whole process and I have a great deal of sympathy for the buyer.
However I am not sure what you are expecting for my company to do in this matter? We cannot force a vendor to choose one buyer over another…indeed if we did apply pressure in this way then surely we are favouring certain buyers and surely not being professional, fair and moral.
I agree the law does need to change but this is not for me, as a small independent business owner, to enforce.
I have to strongly disagree with your above review, but I welcome a chat. If you would like to discuss further or indeed visit our office to talk about this my number is 0121 249 6207 or my emails is [email protected]
