Read these reviews and avoid. Wish I had. Very similar experience. Shocking experience. Was told that the apartment I was renting HAD NOT been professionally cleaned when I moved in. It was not too bad but didn't some time cleaning it including a few photos just in case, good decision. Throughout communication was poor. Like guy coming around to check the apartment with out telling me, not repairing items I reported failed when I moved in... Eventually decided to move out. This is where it really starts. Were very dismissive on the phone when I told them, started arranging and having viewings without telling me, claimed that I never sent them an moving in itinary sheets (I sent them twice including by email) and claiming I would be liable for any fault found as I had not submitted them.
When moving out waited over half an hour for the guy to come. I was told he would be there at 2 in the dot. I spoke to him on the phone and did I wanted to be there when he left. He agreed. Next thing I know he phone's song he had left the apartment but everything was ok, a little dust on the skirting board and I would get a report in the next two days
After a week later I still heard nothing so I phoned them. They were still holding two months deposit £1450. They did that the apartment needed a full clean and there were items missing and broken. When I got the exit report I started that the key items were actually in the photo. I provided them with photos (again) showing that the apartment was actually cleaner when I left. They tried to dismiss the photos. I started to them that they needed to show like for like photos from the moving in and exit reports. There reports contridicted each other doing that I had put nails in the wall. I had photo evidence that the nails were in the wall when I moved in. Dust that was skirting on light fittings had built up over years, not the 2 yes 2 months that I was there. They still started that under their terms and conditions I was liable. And would not release ANY off the money. They started there was no point going to the agency that held the money as it would take over s month for them to act.
Finally after threatening legal action and hours of effort they refunded all but £18 off the deposit. A month after I moved out.
I am still waiting for rent to be returned from them.
If you do not follow the advice from this forum, make sure you photo everything. Make sure that all communication is recorded. Make sure you can survive moving out being owed 2 months deposit... If this still fails to put you off, remember I told you so :)
