I had decided to place my house up for sale and obtain quotes from some of the leading Estate agents in the Swinton area, as well as an online agent. Honestly, by the time I was due to meet Rob from Carr & Hume, I was finding the whole process rather tedious and getting really cheesed off with being "sold" to. Thankfully, Carr & Hume and Robs approach was very different to all of the other Estate Agents I'd met. He gave me some information on Carr & Hume, their people, and some of their awards before having a good nosey around and providing an honest quotation, explaining the logic behind the valuation amount. There was no sales jargon, no pressure and no offer to start a dutch auction against other quotes or "speak to his manager" to get me a discounted price. The quote was honest and final unlike that offered by the two other leading estate agents in the area. In my experience at least, Rob was head and shoulders above the other estate agents I'd had quote from and although Carr & Hume was not the cheapest quote I received, it was a no brainer that I'd be using them for my sale.
Rob took some professional photos of my house, showing off all of the very best features that it had to offer potential buyers. I was extremely impressed with the final photo set provided and I believe it was the photos that helped us gain so much footfall and sell our property in less than 2 weeks.
When the house went up to sale, Laura kindly set up viewings and confirmations were text over to me so that I had them to hand whenever required. Fran was the lovely lady that showed all potential buyers around. I only met her once but found her to be immaculately turned out, charming and extremely likeable and I'm sure its this disposition that also contributed towards selling our property.
After we received an offer for our property (which coincidentally was exactly the amount Rob predicted we'd receive!), I was in contact with the Carr & Hume Swinton office on various occasions to ask questions (some really silly!) and Laura always came back to me promptly and was happy to help. Towards the end of the sale, I needed somebody to give the buyers solicitors a final push as I'd hit a dead end with my own solicitor chasing the buyer for a date on exchange. Laura contacted both Solicitors to give the process a final push and reassured me that all was going through as expected, with the exchange going through the following day.
I really can't thank Carr & Hume enough for how smoothly everything went with my sale from start to finish. Their staff are to be commended on their approach and I hope that Carr & Hume continue to enjoy their ongoing success by being the estate agent with a heart.

Comment on agent fees
In line or cheaper than other leading agents in the area. Based on my experience with Carr & Hume, I think their charges are very reasonable for the exemplary service I received.
