Very annoyed and upset and out of pocket !
I called to view a property to let through Ipswich branch, they asked if I had adverse credit which I declared, The agent said it could go ahead based on my daughters and partners income. Combined we have a houshold income of over 50k. I viewed property and said I wanted to proceed, they said they would contact landlord to see if they would agree.
Hannah calls me back in the morning saying landlord is happy and can I pay £330 holding fee to take property off the market, I paid it
It sadly turned out my daughter was on a debt management plan so her income could not be counted in and we would have to find a guarantor who earned 41k, sadly we could find no one so lost the £330!
Heart please talk to all parties before you take money, it's very upsetting to get people's hopes up and make them out of pocket. I will wait till 1st June when letting agent fees get banned and capped.
My partner is going to settle my debt for me that I gained when I split from a past relationship! So this can't happen again!
It's so sad when people are disregarded due to past credit problems. Bad things happen to people and I have always paid my rent! The whole system a joke! You could have a normal credit score struggling to pay a pile of debts and pass these checks! Our debts are controlled and managed.
Comment on agent fees
Unfair
