Been with bairstow eves for two years and I and my husband are not happy and not was the landlord.
1. Fees are an absolute rip-off. Nearly £2000 up front for... I'm not sure what... £700 deposit fair enough... one month's rent fair enough... but nearly £600 in fees you are joking? Other letting agents in the area it's around £250!
2. They lied to us. When we first signed up we asked if there would be a tenancy renewal fee. They said no. Lo and behold 11 months later they ask for £120! And then phoned us several times over the month asking us to pay it even though we said we would pay it on a specific date.
3. They don't fix things. When looking at the property we were promised they would fix a fence panel. We contacted them once a month for three months and no response. We fixed it ourselves.
4. Our cooker broke and they took days to contact the landlord.
5. They phoned us the day before to schedule something, hubby took the day off and they didn't show!
6. Contacted them many times and they just don't fix things! That's IF they answer.
7. The office is seemingly run by kids who really know very little. They didn't even understand how a marriage certificate proved change of name or even spell the name correctly.

My partner is currently having issues with the agency as well, essentially they are failing to provide water on the property which they haven't been able to fix or provide appropriate accommodation in the meantime whilst they find a contractor for the job which is a violation of several laws I understand.
