We started our search for a flat to rent on the West Drayton area last summer, and found a place we loved and started the process to move in in mid-October. The letting agent we went for viewings with (Michael Carter) was fantastic and really helpful during the whole process, even pushed for us to get new carpets laid before our move in date. However, once we picked up out keys and headed to the property (without someone to takes us round and do an inventory with) is when we felt let down by Coopers. After arriving we found that we didn't know where the meters for the flat were, after calling up the office, neither did they but Michael chased this and got in contact with the previous tennants. We were informed that an inventory had been done by an outside agency that morning, once recieveing this inventory had to make a few adjustments. We also noticed that our fridge didn't seem to be as cold as it should, or that we didnt have a smoke alarm. We thought the fridge thing was due to the cleaners unplugging it, so we plugged it back in and went to buy food. Over then next couple of days we started dealing with the property management team at the Ickenham branch, who have been very slow. We reported our fridge (by this time we had realised was broken) and missing fire alarm. It took a week for a new fire alarm to even be ordered, and we were without a working fridge for almost a month. Since moving in we have reoprted other problems within the property, one of which has been condensation resulting in damp and mold (and lots of it) and so far all of our reports have been dealt with very slowly, and are only being chased up once we send a reminder email. I appreciate that it must be a busy job, but we reported our mold problem around a month and a half ago, and still have not heard anything back apart from a simple guide on how to deal with it ourselves (which has not been working). The mold has already ruined some shoes and items of clothing, and I am very lucky it hasn't had an impact on my health as I have a history of respiratory problems.
Overall, I feel the letting agent and process leading up to the move were fantastic, but we have felt let down by the property management team.
