I recently purchased a house through John Francis Morriston branch.
Completion of said purchase was December 2018.
On receiving the keys I entered the property.
After my initial inspection the internal glaze of the double glazed window of a box room was smashed and the glass completely shattered.
The windowsill also had numerous dents as though caused by a hammer .
The flat roof on the extension had numerous leaks and was later inspected by four roofing companies who all had the same opinion that the vendor and estate agents would have been aware of the state of the roof and the touch ups to the paint work inside where the water was entering the extension .
I contacted John Francis ten minutes after receiving the keys to the property to discuss my findings .
On contacting John Francis, their response to me was to advise me to phone my solicitor, they obviously did not want any responsibility or liability .
To date the roof has needed to be replaced at a cost of £2000 and the new glass for the window plus fitting £100.
This is the fifth rental house I have purchased over the past five years and the worst estate agents I have had any dealings with.
I will not be purchasing a property through John Francis again .
My issue with John Francis is that there was no disclosure relating to the roof and the fact that they would have been aware of the issues with the roof prior to the sale and subsequent purchase of the property as stated by the professional roofing companies.
I am also very disappointed that they totally disregarded the report of the broken window even though they and the vendor were the sole key keepers for that particular property and the property was in their care between the time I viewed it to the time I received the keys.
