I would never again rent from anyone who used this company. They changed my rent from what it was on the original listing to start with but as it was only £5 difference I didn't question it. On moving in day the person doing sign in knew nothing about the flat, I had no idea how to work the water heater or heating. All they did was email me the installation manual- for a different heating system.
They also forgot to give me my parking permit so for 3 days I had to risk parking in a private carpark that could haved fined me.
The man doing sign in also handed me a silicone ring and told me it was "for the toilet". No other explaination given. I just put it in a cupboard.
The listing and the tenancy agreement both stated a pet deposit was needed for animals. After I had paid the initial deposit and signed for a year lease I asked how to pay the pet deposit and they responded that the flat didn't allow pets. I pointed out that clause in the tenancy agreement and the listing but they said that was just a clause in every contract but didn't always apply. Thankfully a relative could take my cat.
Then for the next 9 months I repeatedly had to deal with a building with broken locks, vandalism and drunkards.
I bought a house and left the tenancy 9 months into the year lease so had to pay an early exit fee. This on the surface was ok, I expected it. I was also liable for rent until a new tenant was found. Again, I expected this. However they claimed the £250 coveres advertising and conducting viewings. They only listed it on their website, not on zoopla or rightmove (where I originally found the flat) so I felt like this was all a bit of a con to avoid finding a new tenant and keep me paying rent on an empty flat. Better empty and paid for than occupied and at risk of damage I think was their mentality. The worst was when 2 month after I moved out they asked when I was moving out. I had to bite my tongue to avoid being sarcastic. I told them I left 2 months ago and that I hoped they'd not been telling viewers that I was still there. It was empty for starters! This made me question if they were actually doing viewings at all. They also sent an email asking for £95 to renew and that rent was going up which again made me question if they were aware I'd moved out despite paying to leave early.
Then when the time came to get my deposit back they charged £70 for a "light clean". I cleaned it when I left and they replaced the carpets so literally it was a few kitchen cupboards to wipe if they felt the need. If I could get £70 to do that I clearly need to change jobs!
All in all, an awful company. I will be contacting head office to claim the £250 early leaving fee back.
