Everything started the very first day when we went to sign the tenancy agreement. Before signing the agreement we were ment to look around the house for the last time to make sure everything is fine, but got told to sign the agreement first and then have a look around, the reason for this was that they couldnt find the keys. Unfortunately we agreed, which we know wasnt very responsible, but until this time we didnt have any problems with this agency. After signing the agreement we went to view our house but when we got there agent still didnt have the keys and there was noone in, so we were unable to view the house. We were very angry due to all of us travelling to Manchester from different parts of UK as we're all students.
Finally the day of moving in came, when we have waited over an hour to get our keys because they couldnt find them again.
When we finally got there we have found some of the furnitures being not useable at all, we asked them to remove these furnitures in which they have replied to place them in the back garden and they would arage for someone to come and pick the up. We have e-mailed them about 3 or 4 times about this within the next 2 months but noone came. On the day we were moving out the furnitures were still there!
Another thing when we moved in were dirty carpets which were still wet, and when we were walking on them you could feel and hear the water from underneath, we were unable to move in as everything was still went and the smell from the wet carpets was awful. Of course the agency didnt do anything about it and promised us to change them if we stayed for another year. But we already knew that we didnt want to have anything to do with this agency agter our agreement will finish.
You would think that nothing more could happen on the day we moved in, but no! We have found that matreses in all 3 bedrooms were wet. Agency didnt see anything wrong and we had to get our own new mattrases.
During the year we had a problem with leaking from the bathroom which was blamed on us over and over again.
Lastly the DEPOSIT. We have waited over 2 months from the day of moving out to get our deposit back. and they have deducted costs from our deposit for:
-leaving the water bottle and empty plastic bags in the wardrobes
-dust (which is normal as it has taken them 3 weeks to look around the house after we moved out)
-burnt lightbulb in the kitchen
and for all of these they have deducted around 100 pound each from our deposits, including their funny fees.

Hi Daniel, I'm sorry that you have not had a smooth move in. I don't understand what has gone wrong as all of our properties have all mains connected and should be a case of just turning a boiler/tank on. As i don't know your full name i'm assuming that you have taken on a MANAGED property and not a LET ONLY property.
