Signed a lease for 3 years and found out after a few months and countless sleepless nights there was a airb&b fonctioning 24/7 in the flat right above me , things were dropped every day such as cigarettes, joints, diapers, dirty tissues, toys, etc...
Constant coming and going of multiple people screaming ( pub like noise) and it is a very small 1 bed flat.
When I told the agency they said it was not their problem and that I had to call the council.
Had to call the police a few times when the smell of weed was so bad I could not even keep my windows open or stay in my garden ( in the summer it is not a nice thing to experience).
I have lung issues which I had informed the agent and having people smoking next to me is not an option.
To add to injury the front of the building has been cleaned 8 times in a year and a half ( the amount of trash was so overwhelming we started having rats )
And it took 6 months for Dexter's to even acknowledge the situation and had to get the council involved then magically rats traps appeared.
Tiles are falling from the roof , I made them aware about a year ago as it is dangerous but nothing has been done.
Now I have waste water falling on my kitchen countertop and they did not respond until I threatened to take them to court .
I had to go to citizen advice bureau to ask for help as the smell was so unbearable I could not stay in the flat .
The landlady came personally in the flat
And orally told me she would let me go from the lease but when when I contacted Dexter's they said they did not recall such thing and ignored the whole situation . Never speak to these people as they have no honour, everything has to be via e.mail.
So now I am stuck in a 3 years lease ( 1 and a half year left with ) with waste water coming down on my kitchen countertop so I am not able to use the kitchen as that filth splatter everywhere.
No exactly what I bargened for when I signed the lease.
The flat from hell.
Stay away these people are dishonest.
There is no brake clause in their contracts.
They are after your money .
