Disgusting! They have humiliated us, told us we'll be made homeless by them, lied about us not giving back the keys and renting the property after the end of tenancy took over a grand of our deposit for nothing! The staff is incredibly rude and even the ones in Gravesend are completely useless when you want to report the branch in Canterbury. The ones in Gravesend told me they'll contact me in the next 2 working days,they never got back to me, I called them again multiple times throughout many days, they refused to pick up the phone. HORRIBLE ! This is a business scam. Students, please, spend a bit more time and just find yourselves either other agencies or private landlords but never go with Caxtons. They don't respect half of the things mentioned in the contracts and they just try to scam people.

Unfortunate it is shared by so many of their victims.We recently sucked Caxtons Gravesend as they constantly break our lease, tried to scam us on their always twice at least overcharged services that the best thing non us even noticed!
Rent out cleaning company probably friend of their as price for simple clean was 5time local market , cause numbers of damages and never provided documentation being challenged.It end up in Tribunal and with solicitors, they eat them for breakfast! The biggest scammers you can came across in this business!

We were very disappointed to read your review. Although Caxtons was not the managing agent (this was undertaken by the landlord) we did endeavour to help you during your tenancy including, amongst other things, advising you that you were at risk of losing some of your deposit because of the condition of the property and giving you the opportunity to put things right. Regrettably, those warnings were not heeded and when you referred the matter to the TDS Resolution Service they found in Caxtons' favour on all but a few minor points. And you were only charged legitimate fees in line with the contract terms.



We always seek to work closely with the occupants of property we let and manage, to deliver the best experience for students whilst they are studying in Canterbury and we are sorry that you were not able to share in that.

HORRENDOUS!!
When renewing our tenancy agreement for another 6 months October 2018 we was waiting on them to send over a certain document for the deposit to be sent to them from our previous deposit protection scheme. for about 2 weeks they continued to tell me then sent it via email. after constantly informing them I haven't received anything, they finally got around to sorting it out in JANUARY 2019! when it came to signing the tenancy agreement instead of it being from October - April they informed me it would be until AUGUST 2019. (our plans was not to stay in the flat until then) we are not due to move out march due to the fact we won't sign the tenancy agreement

New management & organisation needed asap! Need to learn how to reply to emails sooner than 5-7 days and not to complain when you don't reply within 24 hours.

Totally agree with all your responses and review. Caxtons are a DREADFUL company - surprised they are still in business, most likely due to the fact they have a monopoly over most of the student housing in Canterbury and can get away with swindling students. ...

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
