I have very serious concerns about the consistency of the check in versus check out reports provided by Dexters. In the check-in report there were 89 photos, in the check out report there were 168. Dexters tried to hold roughly £400 of our deposit back. And because there were far fewer photos in the check in report, it was difficult to provide photo evidence of the state of the property when we moved in. For example, I was charged for a hole in the back of my bedroom door that was there on my arrival, however, the person doing the check in report neglected to take a photo of this. So I was charged anyway.

I am also extremely concerned about the level of independence of the inventory provider. Dexters claims to use an indipendent inventory service, called London Independent Inventory Services. However, LIIS is not registered with the Association of Independent Inventory Clerks (AAIC) and the company address is registered at the same location as the company address for Dexters. LIIS also shares a Director with Dextors: Jeffrey Doble. I find this ethically dubious and to be a conflict of interests. The strapline on the LIIS website also concerns me: 'Keeping London's landlords happy'.

Overall, I would avoid using Dexters at all costs. I feel as though they may have purposefully been less rigorous with the check in report so as to keep more of my deposit. I ended up having to go through the Deposit Dispute Service, and luckily got more of my deposit back than Dexters were originally willing to allow. For example, they were originally going to charge me for some pictures that were removed from the property by one of their own staff members!

I found Temi to be very helpful . He always carried out any requests I had and was happy to go the extra mile even after I had paid the required funds. I would definitely recommend Temi and Dexters again. ...

I cannot begin to describe the dreadful service and lack of guidance and help from this company. They did not do their property inspections and the Tenants multi - let my property and it was another lettting agant who brought the state of the letting ...
