I attended a flat viewing and was told I had to provide £200 in order to even apply for the flat. Although I did not know if this practice was legal, I did so as I liked the flat, and provided all of the other information required for the rental. A few days later I received a congratulatory email saying I had been selected to rent the flat. As a consequence, I immediately confirmed that I would rent the flat and then canceled all my other viewings. Six hours later I received another email from Pure saying someone else had now been selected for the flat and that my £200 would be refunded. The only explanation given was that there had been a lot of applicants! I immediately wrote to Pure to complain at this treatment and that I would write a review of this. I received no response so submitted a review on Google. I then very quickly received a response to my Google review saying that one of their staff had made a mistake in notifying me that I had been selected. It was very odd that it took six hours for them to notice this mistake, even though I had confirmed I would take the flat, and I only got a response from Pure once I posted a negative review on Google.
