Very disappointing service. The Sales team, especially the Manager promised the candidate they were putting forward to puchase our property was fully versed on what our lease and co freehold property details entailed. They were given a copy of our lease and co-freehold shares. Hamptons informed us the perspective purchaser was aware that as a co-freehold property the property was being sold as was and any changes to the lease could be carried out post sale. We did not wish to protract the sale and add additional costs to our Solicitors charges by changing anything on the lease. The sale price accepted by the perspective buyer was based on buying the co-freehold and lease as is. On the day leading up to exchange the vendor recapitulated and insisted they wanted the lease changed prior to exchange and Hamptons became extremely aggressive, rude and unprofessional, saying we needed to comply or we would lose the sale, despite insisting initially they would not produce any perspective buyer who would insist on this lengthy process. We only agreed to accepting Hamptons as our Agent on this basis over other agents and they failed to honour this request. This cost us a lot of time, energy and expense with our Solicitor. I would certainly not recommend them to any perspective seller. They will however represent any buyer fully, as was evident in our case.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Listened fully to our requests as the vendor at the start of the process. Don't lie.
