Having dealt with many estate agents, this was without doubt the least professional and worst experience I have had ever.
I went to view (and put in an offer on) a property that I was extremely interested in buying. The first agent I dealt with had no knowledge of the property he was selling, the building or the area. The agents had no idea of local sold prices, and argued with and lied to me when I presented such information. They lied about other properties in the building on the market with other agents, saying they had sold for huge prices which when I checked with the other agents I found to be untrue.
When I put in an offer on the property, the agent disclosed all of the details of another offer and strong-armed me into offering almost £20k more in one day, saying that this was the price that the vendor was looking for, and if I offered that it would get accepted that same day. He then said immediately that this was not enough and that they were having more viewings. When I withdrew my offer due to their lack of professionalism, the agent, James, became irate, being very rude and disrespectful.
The agent told us straightaway that the vendor wanted a quick sale, and I was able to process the purchase within a matter of weeks with no chain and was keen. Due to the agents rudeness and unprofessionalism, they lost their client a definite sale (and the property is still on the market).
As a buyer or a seller, I would never recommend using this agent, as they do not seem to have either person's best interests.

What agent could do to change your mind?
they could have saved the deal or taken me seriously. they could have returned my calls and accepted that they gambled with my money. their staff could have been nicer to talk to and not so patronising and dissmissive. they could have acted faster and offered to repay my fees because they knew that they lost me the property.Attached Filesnbsp;

We, as a team, are obviously very disappointed to read your comments particularly in view of our ongoing attempts to explain the situation to you – more recently via our Customer Relations Department who have reviewed this case in detail. I am very sorry to hear that. There have subsequently been several staff changes at this branch and service levels have improved drastically. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
