I wish there was a choice for not putting a star as Townends don't deserve any. I am not a person who writes reviews however in this case I need to post one to tell people the horrific encounter I had with Townsends. I can't express in words how disappointed in words * as they have gazumped us twice. On the latest case, a property was under a multiple agents (one of them was Townends) and we were registered with the other agent and through them we have put an offer. At the same time Townends have found a guy who put an offer as well and was off chain compare with us who were on chain however our offer was higher so the vendor chose and accepted our offer. We even have a cover letter saying that the vendor has accepted our offer. Meanwhile we have found out that the Townends were keep pestering the vendor to make him change his mind and accept the offer from his guy even though they were aware that the vendor has already accepted our offer. Need to mention that Townends before even the vendor has not yet accepted an offer from either of us they have put in the website that the property is SOLD STC as they were so sure that the vendor will accept their guy's offer ignoring our offer. Everything was fine, all the information and forms were with the lawyers and mortgage people and in one day we have received a call from our lawyer that the vendor's lawyer said to her that the vendor has decided to go with an alternative offer who was off chain. Not sure if the guy has increased his offer or what really what happened. All I know that I find it really unethical this underhand tactics that Townends use. Shame on Townends for not leaving the vendor alone and throw a spanner and shame to the vendor for not honouring his word.
