Update - following on from issues reported in the flat we have had issues with work being done to what we would class as a sub-par standard without Gatekeeper really checking, an unqualified handyman actually nearly injured himself by inserting a volt reader directly into an active oven light socket which subsequently lead to a mini electrical explosion, destroying the whole oven.
The re-occurring issue of a £90 fee to renew our tenancy 3 months before the end date is also a frustration, especially when I'd already raised this issue multiple times. Rental tenants are unlikely to have £90 spare or be able to produce this amount in 14 days.
A final little nugget is the increase in rent without prior warning which we have to agree to within 14 days otherwise we'll be charged £155 for a brand new contract. I'll give it to them, they certainly know how to make money!
To be fair the guttering is now fixed, although this did take two attempts, I have removed this from my initial review.
I initially reviewed Gatekeeper as a good estate agent.
They sign you in to an extortionate home insurance policy - I'm assuming for commission - which they claim covers accidental damage and up to £50k which in actual fact is a lie because I just received a letter from the policy provider asking me if I want accidental damage cover!!!

Comment on agent fees
Initially okay but they accumulate every time anything changes - they also managed to take £150 for cancelling our contract although we didn’t cancel, slightly confused but paid nonetheless
