Dear Fellow Freshwater haters (I note there seem to be no Freshwater lovers, which is completely understandable)
I own a property in North London where unfortunately Freshwater aka Daejan aka Highdorn are the Freeholder. This ramshackle company know no bounds to their complete lack of professionalism, or contravention of their obligations under the lease. They neither maintain, or manage their properties to any standard whatsoever. It has been years since my building was last spruced up by all acounts and it really shows. They leave dangerous wiring exposed, leave large falls into basement stairwells unguarded, do not replace light bulbs, do not irradicate vermin, etc, etc. The list goes on.
Myself and some of the other owners in this block are in the process of trying to obtain the right to manage the property, which will remove Freshwater from all dealings, and allow us to manage and maintain the property ourselves. I also hope that it will allow us to source and pay for our own buildings insurance as we are clearly getting fleeced on this issue as another person has written. The longterm view once we acquire RTM is to ultimately buy the freehold and get rid of Freshwater altogether.
For any prospective tenants, leaseholders, landlords etc looking at a property where Freshwater or any other the associated companies is involved, I would seriously recommend that you don't go there. These people are a bunch of crooks and thieves.

I too am unfortunate enough to heve Freshwater manage my property but I am on the SW London/ Surrey border. Myself and my neighbours are sick of the poor quality of service and being ripped off at every oppotunity and are interested in managing our own property with a view to buying the leasehold also, any advice from yourself or anyone else who reads this about where to start? The swathe of negative feedback I’m reading on here chimes exactly with my own experience as someone who rents one of their properties.
Needs -even if of a desperate nature , like severe black mould and leaks- are not attended to with any urgency if at all. Emails and phone calls (to Caroline) are not responded to.

The case in question was sort of resolved today, but Ditchwater know EVERY trick there is to play. They admitted liability to damage caused knowing my friend was in receipt of Legal Aid and therefore would have to accept their offer to wipe the monies they claim he owed them.
