It is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any tenancy. The lifts have only just begun to function and are still a bit dodgy after breaking down completely last June. For half the year the building had no working lifts. There are 10 floors.
Repairs within the flats...they did not complete any in less than 3 months with the exception of my lack of hot water. It took them a week after move-in to get a contractor over to fix that. The contractor then informed me that no one had actually checked my flat prior to move in. That's why I had no hot water or heating. My windows are still leaking every time it rains, and this has been going on for almost a year.
The contractors are disrespectful, messy and rarely, if ever, actually fix anything. In fact, I have had instances in which they reported to Acorn completing my repairs, but nothing had been done. When I informed Acorn, they refused to believe me or send anyone to complete the repairs, until an agent came to verify. The contractors have used my personal belongings as tools for repair and left them broken, strewn over my kitchen counter.
Acorn has repeatedly entered my flat without my approval and without advance notice. They have abused the use of having management keys to the point I don't feel comfortable in my own home.
The property managers and not helpful in any manner, shape or form. They are more headache than relief. They are uniquely gifted with a profound aptitude for ineptitude, inefficiency and incompetence.
Worst experience I have ever had renting.
Comment on agent fees
Fees are excessive. Paid for cleaning and my flat was dirty when I moved in.
