Not sure where to start really. We were lied to from the beginning about why our electric gates were open all day, a request to have them closed was either ignored or reasons made up for keeping them open. We debunked these reasons as lies and had to force Denfords to close them (that's right we had no right to close our own paid for gates). We attempted to clean up all the brambles, weeds and ivy around the grounds (ivy kills trees and then we pay), but were told it was illegal practise. Over the years there have been many arguments both with the guy before and Daniel. I had to question why a fencepost cost £700+ and really just got nowhere, makes me wonder where the £10,000 a year is going, especially as they now want us to pay for painting of hallways on top. That was a year and a half ago (2 residents have refused to pay the extra charge, so no painting). One resident has asked for the money to be refunded, this has been refused?. We the residents have now been accused of installing a receiver in the electric gate system (I wouldn't know how to) by 'Automatic Gate Systems' and Daniel himself. Having owned this property for 10 yrs and using my own £5 a time key fobs, I am a little dubious about this claim as I now have to purchase a 3"x2" fob at £35 a time (stinks of foul play to me) directly from the gate repair company. Luckily there is a witness to the other claims made by the gate systems operative.
I was also reliably informed by Daniel that we couldn't remove Denfords as property managers as we don't own the freehold, this is correct. But luckily, the freeholders are willing to back us in the removal after a majority vote.
Comment on agent fees
Terrible. What I want to say would probably be illegal and without full accounts and costs (including independent quotes) it would be hard to prove.
