We approached Smith & Gore to sell for us a disused farm inside the village boundary. , we drove twice the 75 miles journey to see them and to keep the appointments made to discuss the intended sale, the first appointment was wasted, their agent/rep /manager was not there, so we had to make a second appt to see him, this second appointment was not kept by him again, but we did see the under-manager, promises were made and exchanged, hopes built up by us, letters were exchanged but nothing happened, we suspect because we were not dressed in tweeds, carrying Purdey shotguns they and had not ridden there on horses they were not interested, what a waste of time they turnned out to be. We understand they are now owned by Savills, this must be for the best. We never dealt with Savills and wish to distance them from any criticism.
