hi, my partner and myself rented a property through belvoir lettings long eaton between 2008 - 2012. i have got to say that the whole 4 year period with dealing with this particular agent was absolutely terrible. if we ever contacted them in regards to any problems we had they would tell us someone would contact us back but 9 times out of ten you would never hear from them again. when we moved into the property there was a lot of issues with it which included- mould and damp prblems, outside plaster falling of the walls, ancient heating system constantly breaking down, back garden totally out of control with trees, shrubs , weeds. the heating system finally got replaced after many many inconveniant breakdowns that left us with no hot water or heating for weeks at a time. bevoir sent a maintanance company they use to replace the heating system and they did this messy and dirty job while we were still living in the property with two young children. it was a massive inconveniance and there was never any contact from belvoir offering alternatve accomadation whilst the work was being or even to ask out of good will how we are coping with the inconveniance. when the heating system was complete they left a big gaping hole in wall where the flu pipe goes outside which on request never got dealt with. the mould and damp in the house was aan issue for the whole 4 years of the tennancy especially in the wardrobes upstairs and due to this we had to throw good clothes away that were riddled with green and black mould. in the end we had to leave our clothes on a table in the bedroom as it was too costly to keep replacing clothing that was being damaged by the mould. after many complaints about the mould i just gave up trying in the end and when i vacated the property this june it was still there 4 years on but just ten times worse than when we moved in 2008. the plaster had been falling from the house from the get go and our car on the drive would be regulary covered in it. in febuary 2012 the downstairs flooded due to a pipe bursting under the bathroom floor upstairs and it totally ruined the sofa and coats and shoes that were directly below the burst pipe. the whole of the living room and hallway were an inch deep in water and i can honestly say it was one of the most stressfull times of my life so far. i contacted belvoir and lynne greenfield came around to have a look, she told us to turn the gas fire on ( at our expense ) and open the windows and it will dry it out. i told her that we need dehumidifiers in here as it will take weeks to dry out so she said leave it with me and i will sort it. days went by with us living in damp cold conditions without even a phone call from lynne greenfield, and out of the blue some bloke knocked at the door with a small little henry wet- vac and tried to suck up water that had allready soaked into the underlay and the floor beneath it ( what a joke ). in regards to the flood thats all that was ever done, so we had to continue living in a house that was damp and smelly, i also had to destroy the sofa and clothes and shoes even my kid,s sckool shoes because they were ruined. i had to get a skip to dispose of the damaged sofa and other stuff at my expense. in the april of 2012 we recieved a phone call from a plastering contractor who said he was coming to start work the following day to re- plaster the outside of the house. we were never given any warning from belvoir that this was going to take place and they turned up the following morning to start the job. on the monday morning when they came to start taking the old plaster off they informed me that they had no means of power to operate there tools to take the plaster off, so they asked me if they could use my power supply as they had no generator. i am an easy going guy so i gave the lads access to my electric supply and let them get on with it and for the next 2 weeks it was like living in the middle of a building site. the work took 3-4 weeks and there was a skip on the drive along with buildind materials which meant i could no longer use the driveway for that whole period. the contractors had no means of a water supply to mix the plaster so they had to ask my nieghbours at number 8 carrfield to supply them with water. lynne greenfield had sent contractors to the property that weren,t equipped to do the job and it was only down to my good nature that they got the job done on behalf of the landlord. the whole thing was a massive inconveniance for myself and my partner and two children but the fact that we are decent human beings made sure the landlord got his house re plastered with no inconveniance to him which was all down to us and our brilliant neighbours at no 8. during the 3-4 weeks it took for the plastering to be done, we never recieved one phone call from lynne greefield thanking us for allowing the job to progress and to ask us how we were coping with the stress of it all which i think is utterly disgusting and disrespectfull. all in all i can say it has been the worst 4 years of my life and i found lynne greenfield to be a rude, incompetant and unprofessional individual who has no regard for anyone but herself. i vacated the proprty on the 13/06/12 and it felt like a lottery win when i finally cut my ties with the shoddy outfit (the letting specialists). i would never ever use or advise anyone else to use belvoir lettings long eaton as they will cause you extreme misery as they have no morals or respect for anyone.
