I signed a rental contract for a one bedroom flat in a local branch and they said they were managing the property. I paid 300£ fees in cash to secure the property to the agent and had to pay advance rent and deposit without even been provided a copy of the contract. They delayed the moving date and I had to insist to get it changed. When I received the contract by post 2 weeks later I found out that a break clause had been added giving the right to the landlord to break the contract after 6 months but that I was stuck myself for a year.Once I moved in I was told by the agent he would not deal with me at the local branch further, I would have to call a head office phone number for maintenance or issues with complete strangers unwilling to help when the first problems happened. Now I found out that they brought a standing order to my bank by mandate without my consent and the rent for the following month was taken off my bank account 15 days before the legal date and I suspect fake documentation was provided on my behalf. Now dealing with fraud departments to investigate.Obviously not a good start ...
