This is a factual review of our recent experience with pinewood property.
As ex tenants for pinewood property we were very disapointed with the service. At the check in appointment they didn't give us the french door keys and said they would chase up the office for the correct ones, then when we enquired for these we were told we had been given them. We were threatened that we would be charged locksmith charges if we had the keys when the locksmith turned up. He then had to confirm to the office the keys we had didn't work and replaced the lock. Even though the representative from this office was the one who told us the keys didn't work at the check in meeting. This delayed us moving in at a cost to us as we could not move big pieces of furniture in.
We also informed the maintenance inspector of this property when we first moved in that the wood surface around the sink was very old wood and not water tight and was decaying therefore asked could she arrange treating the wood or a new worktop, she told us no they would not replace it so to put a mat down to try and prevent anymore water damage she also took photos of this. However this was a poor suggestion as of course water still splashes around a sink area. On check out of the property the agent claimed that as the company was not noified in writing of the poor worktop around the sink they will deduct the cost of a worktop from our deposit which was most of the deposit. Awful service and the maintenance department are shocking. If you are told by a representative of the maintenance department that they will do nothing why would you send an email to get told the same answer? The maintenance inspection are therefore pointless as they don't listen to what the tenant reports.
When we first viewed the property which was advertised at £550 a month we were the first tenants to view and confirm that we wanted the property. We then assumed after paying our fees we would be entitled to the property but got told another party was interested in the property and the landlord would take whoever offered him the most monthly rent. We then offered £570 and secured the property. This was a really shady process and not advertised in the advertisement. It should have said '£550' but we will try and get more money out of you if there is other interest. Most honest agents give the property to the first viewers who confirm they want a house and pay the fee. We were in a position where I was heavily pregnant and done numerous viewings and because of this delayed process 'the bidding war' the other property we considered was taken in this time.
